This initiative not only provided power in these houses but also promoted eco- tourism and sustainable practices within the communities. This project helped the villagers with an additional source of income. In five days, the community's total earnings reached ₹1,00,000 giving a great boost to the locals and the village economy. Since partnering with us in 2022, she has grown from a homestay host into Likir’s leading tourism ambassador — curating village walks, pottery workshops, cooking sessions and hikes. Through meaningful exchanges with leaders and immersive experiences in rural communities, the journey explored leadership as balance, purpose and stewardship. Through experiences rooted in Bhutan’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness, students explored how wellbeing, tradition and sustainability shape everyday life. Exchanges with local students, archery sessions, conservation visits and spiritual practices offered meaningful insights into Bhutanese culture. Camping under the stars and reflecting around a bonfire fostered deeper awareness and connection. Thoughtfully designed around the well-being of self, surroundings and the planet, the journey embraced slow and intentional travel through meaningful local experiences, farm-to-table meals and deeper community interactions. Staying rooted in one place encouraged presence over constant movement, while Bhutan’s philosophy of balance and sustainability shaped the retreat’s rhythm. Beyond conventional wellness travel, the experience became a gentle exploration of mindfulness, responsibility and more conscious ways of engaging with the world.
